Does your community operate a CHOA Feeding Program?

CHOA SFSP Meal Program Caring Hearts of America has been a participant of the Summer Feeding Program since June 16, 2013, serving an estimate of 1,300 children in Mecklenburg and Union County, and prepared over 100,000 meals. In response to the overwhelming child hunger in the Carolinas, we started the first serviced our first meal program in June 2012.

CHOA feedings programs provide free meals and snacks to low-income children through a variety of community locations where children gather during summer camps, community centers, YMCAs, churches, and  afterschool hours. In addition to providing meals to kids, CHOA offer a safe place where children can participate in educational, recreational and social activities under the supervision of trustworthy staff. CHOA feeding programs also offer nutrition education throughout the school year.
